Regarding his drawing “This Will Not End Well”, Poolman remarks: “I have developed a series of research-based works in print, drawing, video and on-site painting that investigates youth rebellion and violence within death metal culture. This work seeks to open up the discourse surrounding suburban rebellion, the influence of music on youth culture, and issues of isolation and dissent through an investigation of the music, iconography, fashion and aggressive actions of this subculture.”
