J. Payette Biography
(1951)
A self taught artist, Jacques Payette was born in Montreal in 1951. In the early seventies he started to exhibit in Montreal galleries and his work is now shown across Canada. He works principally in the encaustic medium, a difficult technique that he has mastered admirable and with which he creates a feeling of mysticism. Inspired by many diverse subjects, Payette always manages to express the duality of man’s nature, reconciling the physical with the metaphysical.
