Born in Windsor, Ontario, he spent much of his early life in the bush where he enjoyed his natural surroundings. About 1948 at the age of eighteen he entered the Meinzinger Art School in Detroit then later studied at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. He worked for several years at sign painting, TV graphic arts, and set designing. Subsequently, he worked at illustration and advertising work. Finally, he was able to devote all his time to easel painting with special interest in landscapes. He had a novel A-frame studio in Peachland, BC, overlooking Okanangan Lake. He has held solo shows at J.D. Duguay, Rouyn, Quebec (1952); Jack Hambleton Galleries, Kelowna, B.C. (1967); Gainsboroigh Galleries, Calgary; Dutch Galleries, Vancouver; Bellevue Collector’s Gallery, Bellevue, Washington; Harrison Galleries, Vancouver (1969).
